Suicide doesn’t always come with clear signs. But some behaviours can indicate that someone you love may be struggling in silence. By learning to recognise these warning signs, we can offer support, break the stigma, and potentially save lives.

At TGCFG, we believe mental health is health. This campaign is dedicated to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and equipping communities with the knowledge to support those who are struggling.

WARNING SIGNS TO WATCH FOR

  1. Talking About Wanting to Die
Expressions such as “I wish I were dead” or “I have no reason to live” should always be taken seriously.
  2. Withdrawal from Friends and Family
Pulling away from loved ones and social activities can be a sign that someone is in distress.
  3. Giving Away Prized Possessions
Distributing valued belongings or settling affairs can be a sign that someone is preparing for death.
  4. Drastic Mood Swings
Sudden shifts from deep sadness to calm or happiness can indicate a decision has been made.
  5. Engaging in Reckless Behaviour
Dangerous activities such as substance abuse, speeding, or taking unnecessary risks may signal hopelessness.
  6. Expressing Feelings of Hopelessness
Statements like “Things will never get better” or “What’s the point?” are serious warning signs.
